Personal
My wife Tracey and I have been married for 20 wonderful years, and together we’re raising our two kids, Matthew and Ashley. We call Devon, Alberta home, and love being part of the community by taking part in and supporting Indigenous and local events. Family and culture mean so much to me, and I’ve always believed in lending a hand to those in need.
Serving his Community
I’ve been fortunate to serve my community in many ways, from my time with the Devon Fire Department to volunteering on committees, local boards, Town Council, the Indigenous Relations Advisory Committee, and with the Devon Legion. I take great pride in the work I’ve done advocating for Métis and Indigenous people, and in standing up for our rights throughout the region.
My Heritage
Just like the colorful sash, woven with threads that cross and intertwine, our Métis kinship network is beautifully connected across our traditional homelands. I have been blessed by the hard work of my loved ones and with the knowledge of where I fit within this expansive kinscape. I am honored to trace my ancestry through the L’Horondelle, Beaudry, Breland, Grant, and Haws families, and I am equally proud to be married to an incredible Métis woman whose family roots connect to the Belcourt line.
Indigenous Lifestyle
I believe that seeing the world through an Indigenous lens brings deeper understanding and connection. I teach my kids about where they come from, the strength of their family and cultural history, and the challenges our relatives have overcome to get us here today. I remind them of the importance of respecting the land, honoring our differences while finding common ground, and always listening to our elders and knowledge keepers. Most of all, I want them to know that we are the future, and it’s our responsibility to build on the teachings of the past.

It’s important that citizens have opportunities to participate in meetings, easily access minutes and information, and share their feedback.
